There's nothing like flying a tailwheel aircraft.  And there's nothing like experiencing a lazy afternoon exploring the coast line and "putting her down" on a grass strip for lunch.  Once you experience the freedom of tailwheel flying you'll never look back.

Joining the Club is Simple:

• You need to have successfully completed the Heritage Flight Academy Tailwheel Transition Course.  For those who already come to us with a "tailwheel endorsement" or "tailwheel experience" you must be checked-out to a level of proficiency satisfactory to an HFA tailwheel instructor.  Once your checked-out you'll be signed off to rent HFA's Tailwheel Aircraft and take a passenger.

Where can I go when I rent Club aircraft?

• You will be permitted to fly to and land at airports with runways longer than 2,900 feet.  This includes grass fields.  If you want to land at a shorter possibly more challenging airfield an instructor will need to assess your skills, and issue a wavier.

Heritage Flight Academy Tailwheel Aircraft:

• At present HFA operates a CITABRIA 7GCBC.  It's a great aircraft to learn tailwheel techniques and a forgiving aircraft when landing.  There will be more Citabria's added to the fleet in the coming months.

What are the rental rates and fee's?

• At present there is no club fee or any upfront cost.  The "wet" rental for the Citabria is $120.00 per hobbs hour.

What else should I know?

• You will be briefed in full by the taildragger chief pilot regarding all operations and procedural components of the club. The only supreme rule is that you MUST have fun!
